It would maybe be the understatement of the century to simply say that COVID-19 has had an impact on the 2020 Wedding Season. Hundreds of weddings across Western North Carolina alone have been rescheduled, and wedding vendors are scrambling to accommodate and quite frankly, survive. But as hard as it may be for professionals adjusting our livelihoods, we feel so so much for our couples who are having to make huge adjustments to what they had been planning…

So nothing makes us happier than the love that is still happening all around us. Micro weddings (up to the current NC Mandate of 25 outside/10 inside mass gathering limits) and elopements are the new normal and we kind of love the intimacy! This gorgeous Black Balsam Elopement for Marie + Danny is a perfect example of that. Their love was palpable and the special touches were perfect… Danny’s sister, who introduced the couple years ago, married them, and we’re not sure anything beats the groom writing the first song in this video by Wildwood Media. JUST WOW.

While we are all eager to get back to celebrating ‘mass gathering’ style, we are lucky #loveisnotcancelled and there are many fun and creative ways to still have special wedding days. 

To all of the wedding vendors out there… stick to your guns and take care of your teams however you need to. You have our support and know we are all making tough decisions right now. 

To all of the couples who have already postponed, are thinking about postponing, or will end up postponing…. trust your vendors to still give it everything we can when the big day does come! Emotions are high on both ends, and we hope everyone knows that Engaged Asheville will be here for y’all however we can be.
